Help make RIVERcamp 2010 happen by serving on a team. Most roles include a free place for the week along with 2 free meals a day. Read the following information for more details.
What is it like to be on a team?
It depends what team you are on, though this little explanation might give you an idea!If you've never been on team before the whole idea of working on a campsite voluntarily for 6-7 days might not seem the greatest thing to do with your summer. Yet every year some amazing people come and volunteer their time.
It's important to know that being on team means you do have to work! The point of the teams is that the events run smoothly and so you might not always be able to get to every meeting.
A lot of teams will ask you to work in teams for up to 8 hours a day. Some venues start early or finish late in the day, so it can be really tiring, you'll work on shifts usually of about 4 hours at a time. Before you apply be sure to check the job descriptions and make sure you know what you're getting yourself in for!
However, being on a team is not all about working hard because teams have a great fun, bond together and get to be a part of making the event happen. You’ll find most roles should allow you to get to at least one celebration a day, as well as time off during other parts of the day.
These are just some of the comments from people who've served previously on a team.
I have been a volunteer from the very first RIVERcamp when it was a very small camp and we had to be a jack of all trades. It has been a huge amount of fun and as the camp has grown the challenges have increased and the amount of fun in dealing with them has continued to spur me on.
I get a huge amount of satisfaction seeing RIVERcamp run well and seeing people getting blessed by God and having fun. I have now got very involved with the setting up and running and would not miss being a volunteer. And if you are full time you get in free.

RIVERcamp is organised by the Metropolitan West Region of the Elim Pentecostal Church
